HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

I felt like a man for awhile.
I had to look up my anniversary to make sure I got the date right.
(Some men might not even bother to do that.)

Sorry if that offends any men.....well sort of.

So here are some reflections since my blogging birth.

                    UNEXPECTED THINGS I HAVE LEARNED:

*  That blogging can and has opened up a new awareness and computer world for me.

*  That you can make "friends" even though you have never officially met them in person.

That there are SO many talented people out there who just think, " Oh, it's not a big thing".

*  That there are SO many talented bloggers!

*  That the world is literally at my fingertips.

*  That although I do not always want to continually be schooled in some of the lessons presented me, "graduating" means I am done living.

*  That the lessons I am learning are not unique to me.

*  That empathy and understanding can come from total strangers.

*  That ALL of us have unexpected lives.

*  That even when you accept that life is unexpected there are certain things you never expect to happen in your life.  And wish never would have.

*  That in spite of all the painful "unexpecteds",  life continues to bring the promised rainbow after the storm.  (We may just have to be more patient for some to appear.)

So That's It....

I have been very lax and sparse in my postings for the last 3 months.

I excused myself, saying that it was because I had taken on a second job (which is true-sometimes even  3), but myself just told me that it's more than that.

Once again I have let the fear of exposure (Oh Pleeeez....!) immobilize me.

Talking to Barb E. while laying on my Barbie couch (meaning that it is impossible to do-so I didn't really have a therapy session), I blurted out that I am worried that the people whose children I care for will read this and silently quit using my services.

They then will tweet about me Facebooking my weaknesses, telling the whole world.

Barb E. informed me that blogging IS a worldwide thing.

Oh.  O.K.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR BLO-OG.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

One year ago today I started my blog.

For almost a year prior, I had told my friends and acquaintances I was going to do this, not knowing what a blog even truly was.

At our school, we celebrate birthdays with the child carrying the earth around the sun (a candle) one full rotation,  describing what that/each year of life was like.

It would be an extremely lengthy post if I tried to describe this past year.
It would suffice just to read my whole blog.
(O.K. at least some of the highlights.)
That sums it up in a blogshell.

I must admit that even 365 days later, whenever I post a new blog and this page closes and changes to the one that says, "Your blog post published successfully!",
I still get grade-school giddy.

It is hard to believe that I did it!

I would like to take this time to thank all of you who believed in me and have "followed" along!!!!

I hope that the journey we take together this next year will be filled with even more unexpected surprises!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!

The Blog Crumb Trail

I am still relatively new to the technology world.

My children would probably say that I just know blogging.
Which is true...to some extent (as that is even limited.)
As for other tech stuff....

I don't know how to play Wii,
I don't know how to use an ATM card,
And my phone still has a cord.
(Well not the one that I put in my purse, but that one is very old.
It's latest and only feature is taking  blurry pictures.  I think it's memory can hold up to three max.)

So even though I "know" blogging, I don't.

I get lost.

Like Hansel and Gretal my blog crumbs are gone when I try to return.

Has that ever happened to you?!

I have been sitting at the computer for so long without getting up I would have a beard if I were a man,
(I guess my armpit hair is growing instead),
And I have come across some very interesting and amazing sites during that time.
The problem is, I don't know how I got to them.

Therefore, I am unable to return.

Small, shiny, 'bookmark' white stones don't work for me either.

So, I may end up at the cake and candy house.
(Which on many days wouldn't seem like such a bad idea as sugar and I are the best of friends),
Except for the cannibalistic witch who resides there.

It's true, she does end up charred (like my knight)
Which is all fine and dandy, but I am still left wandering in the forest of blogs.

So, more learning for me it is.

Media Fast

I will be participating in a Media fast starting tonight until next Sunday evening.

So I will not be posting during this time.

I hope I will be filled with wonderful, thought provoking, touching, teachable thoughts and stories to blog about when I start up again.

See you then!

P.S. Please do not forget to come back?!

New Blog Look

I was notified that new blog templates just came out with new 'toys'.
I wanted to play.
But I do not know what I am doing exactly (apparently).
So some of my past posts do not have titles that can be read very easily.
If you put the arrow or the hand there (I don't even know if they are the same thing), it is like a secret decoding device and it will light up
in a bright yellow.
See? You can play too!
Sorry for any inconvenience.
To the both of us.
By the way, It was an unexpected surprise!

Look What I Found!

In my first ever post, on January 29th, 2010, I blogged about how difficult it was for me to find help to teach me how to blog.

I quote,"I know, it's so easy that even a caveman can do it but I couldn't find one of those either."

Well, you won't believe what I found! (If you do, just act surprised like you do when you know what your present already is-because you are the who bought it.)

                                                          LOOK!

 Don't you just love it??
Well, I do , but then I don't really have a very hairy man with David Letterman teeth and fingernails longer than mine sitting at my computer in a t-shirt dress (throwing a beaver)!!
(P.S.  But I think the vine-cord is a nice touch.)

Unexpected Vulnerability

I didn't expect to feel so vulnerable just because I'm blogging.

This is just a picture added for humor.

I'm getting a little concerned that my humor on my blog isn't being understood.
I also didn't want my posts to be too serious.
 Or to be too mushy,

Or too boring,
Or too sad,
Or....
This multiple personality stuff is not for sissies.
Well, maybe one of them can be a sissy...

I started writing this blog for myself but it would also be nice if others enjoyed it too.

I realize it'll drive me crazy trying to worry about how others may be perceiving me so I've decided to go forward with whatever moody person shows up at that moment.

I'd invite you to keep checking and reading and hopefully there will be something that resonates for you!
