I Bet You Were Horrible.....

We were driving through a plaza and I was pointing out to my young little friend the places there that had helped me prepare for the fashion show that I was in a few years before.  "There's the place that did my makeup and hair", I explained, also indicating where I was fitted for shoes and the clothing store I would represent.....

From her booster seat in the back of my car she said, "I bet you were horrible.    .....I mean that in a nice way....".
Just exactly how can "horrible" thesaurustate (my word for translate) into "nice"?!!

After regaining my breath and control of my car, I asked her as nonchalant as possible why she would think that.
Her reply, "It's just that I've never seen old people like you be in a fashion show."

Be careful what you ask for.....

I should've quit while I was already behind!

We Made It! Happy Anniversay

HAPPY 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY BLOG!!!

Probably one of my most important goals in my life is to be what I call "true to the core".
That what is on the inside of me, matches what is on the outside.
I have tried to do that these past 5 years by the sharing of my life lessons through this blog.

THANKS to ALL you faithful readers!

When Little Things Really Are Big

Last month I opened my locker and I found this terrific surprise to greet me.

It was a "Hi" message; a simple gesture that could be categorized under "small", yet it was huge in the "big" scheme of things.

It was an act of kindness which took thought, effort and sharing.  Someone had taken time to think of me, and generously shared a coveted, delectable, sustenance.

It was a "Hi-gh" point each time I opened my locker or unwrapped one of those morsels.
It made me more high than the chocolate drug itself as my heart was touched by the affection shown me through this simple but profound act.

Never, ever underestimate the "little" acts of goodness you show to another, for you may never fully know the depth of how really "big" they are!

Dear New Year.....

Dear New Year.....
I know I have never met you before, but I am looking forward to you being in my life and getting to know you.
I am also anticipating getting to experience the blessings that you have to share with me, as well as the lessons I can learn from you.
I am awaiting what this new year has to add to my life hoping that you stay with me for at least 365 days before you decide to leave.
I will do my best to cherish and express gratitude in all things knowing you are in my life only for my benefit, no matter if some trying days are mixed in there.
Thank you for adding me to your list of friends and for adding another yearly piece that is forming the puzzle picture of my life. Welcome 2015 to my life!!!
With gratitude,
Love, Reyna

More Art Work

Here is another temple my son did for the same person.
This is the Gila Valley temple in Central, Az.

It also is done with chalk pastel and ink.
(Again, sorry for the glass glare and other reflections :( )

Art Work By My Child

This is a picture of the Mesa, Az. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Temple my son made with chalk pastels and ink (the old school dip-in-a-bottle kind.).  It took him hours and hours of carefully and meticulously making the details with ink as one slip could have ruined the whole picture! (If you can, zoom in and see all the details.)

This was commissioned work but I want one of these.....

(Sorry about the glare from the glass.)

LEGO-MAN: Do You Want To Build A........

Husband.....or A Boyfriend.....?

As I watched the little boys in class over the years playing with Lego's, they would just dig in the big Rubbermaid bin and pick out different pieces to different sets, snapping together all the mismatched pieces to form one character.

A little bit of Pirate-Man, Space-Man, Construction-Man and The Knight.  Coming together to create their "hero".  Their ideal guy. One whom could find the hidden treasure, dream and see things that are out of this world, build anything, and do it all with chivalry.  Oh, what a man!

Wouldn't it be great if we could form our own men who would posses all that?  Taking this ones humor and talents, that guys looks, this ones values, and that ones commitment to relationships, goals and dreams?  Piecing together Thee Guy? Thee one we have diligently searched for, in hopes of someday finding?

Well, we know the routine right?
No matter how loud we sing, 'Everything is awesome, everything is cool when you're part of a team.' while sorting through life's bin of men, it won't make it all work out the way we want, will it?  We can't take this mans heart and that mans brain and make it fit where it doesn't belong now can we, no matter how determined and hard we push.  Some pieces of people just aren't ever going to be compatible matches.

But you know what?
I can build a real Lego meI can find the pieces of the woman I want to be and add them here and there until I have become someone whom I would want to be married to.

I can work on creating a new me, while I of course am belting out, 'Everything is awesome when you're living your dream' !
