Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary Baby, Got You On My Miiinnddd...

That's an old school song by Little River Band.

Today is my third year anniversary of starting this blog.

Who'd a thunk?!

For my present, I hope to start a new blog featuring some of the creative repurposing and make-overs my sister and I do with furniture and other items.

Even though it has been three years, I still have little idea how to work this computer so it may take some time for me to get the new blog off the ground.

I will keep you posted and invite you to visit once I have it underway.

Thank you for your continued support visiting and sharing my life lessons with me!!

If you visit me regularly and read my blog and are not a "fellow traveler" I would invite you to please officially "follow" me.  Thank You!!!

I Want A Bike With Pedals

As I was sweeping the driveway, I noticed out of the corner of my eye the three year old boy I was taking care of zooming by on his mini bicycle.  As his friend and peer joined him, they started talking about their bikes.  The first little boy stopped close by me and said, "I want a bike with pedals."

I looked down and was surprised to see his bike had no pedals. (It occurred to me how little attention I had paid and it then made sense how he could maneuver around so fast.)  At first I thought there was something wrong with his bike-that it was broken, as many I had had as a child; where we were just grateful to use whatever we had around us-but it wasn't.  The bicycle was made without pedals; for beginners.
He had apparently mastered the art of the no-pedal-bike and was ready for a bigger and more challenging experience.

I, like him, had a bike with no pedals and had mastered that well in my journeys through life.  Unlike him, I hadn't anticipated getting a new bike.  One with pedals.  One that would require more work on my part and stretch me to learn how to balance and steer at the same time!  I had become comfortable zooming easily through the day-to-day things.  I was o.k. with no pedals.  I did not want a change.  I did not want a "new bike"!

But apparently life was ready for me to move up to the next "step", believing I guess, that I could do it.  I hadn't asked to be advanced, to be promoted if you will, I had been very content and even relaxed with where I was.

Well, as predicted, even if you are allergic to citrus, lemons are bound to show up once in a while, offering a bitter to our sweet, little lifestyle.   Being that I am more of a baker than a drink connoisseur, making lemon bars sounds more appealing than making lemonade.

So with some major unexpected changes in my transportation and diet, I am pedaling on my "new ride" out to find a recipe and ingredients that better suit my palette and the plan that God has for my life-(of course making sure to remember to wear my helmet!)
